The Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site was inscribed by UNESCO in 2001due to its significance in world industrial history.

The development of the Factory System and the amazing achievements of entrepreneurs such as Richard Arkwright, Jedidiah Strutt, and Sir Thomas Lombe are told in this evocative drama/documentary, filmed entirely on location in cottages, cotton mills and the beautiful countryside of Derbyshire and the Peak District.
