About Us

 Maypole Promotions is a not-for-profit organisation for the promotion of cultural and community events in Milford and surrounding area. Its previous projects have included a Millennium Snapshot with around 1400 photos of Milford and Makeney and in 2006 the film Samuel Slater – Hero or Traitor ?  and accompanying book of the same title. 

The Slater film involved over 200 local people and has been distributed across the world since its premiere. The book contains the definitive research from UK primary sources and is now available in libraries in Derbyshire and the USA including the Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC.
